The dogs are the reason this place was built,  they are the very soul of this place..

What we do

At our dog refuge, located right next to our beachfront hotel, we provide a safe haven for rescue dogs in need of care and compassion.

Our dedicated team works tirelessly to rehabilitate and rehome stray, abandoned, and mistreated dogs, offering them love, medical attention, and a chance at a better life.

Fully funded by our hotel, the refuge is an integral part of our mission to give back to the community. Guests are welcome to visit, volunteer, or spend time with the dogs during their stay.

For those looking to make a lifelong connection, adoption opportunities are available, giving our dogs the chance to find their forever homes.

By staying with us, you’re directly supporting these dogs on their journey to a better future.

Adoption process

Adopt a Dog from Morocco — Straight from the Heart of
Capsimbay

Welcome to Capsimbay, a peaceful seaside retreat in Morocco with a heart for animals. Alongside our beautiful hotel, we’ve created a loving onsite dog refuge
where rescued dogs are given care, safety, and a second chance at life.
If you’re visiting from abroad — or even just dreaming of giving a Moroccan dog a
home — we’re here to make international adoption as smooth and heartfelt as possible.

Start by reaching out to our team through our website or email. Share a bit about
your home, lifestyle, and what kind of dog you’re looking for — we’ll help match you with one of our wonderful Capsimbay residents.

Next, you’ll complete a short adoption application. This helps us ensure our dogs are placed with the right families. We’ll also set up a quick video call to get to know youvand introduce you to your potential new companion!

All of our dogs at Capsimbay are:

  • Fully vaccinated (including rabies)
  • Dewormed
  • Microchipped
  • Spayed or neutered (if age-appropriate)
  • Health-checked by a certified Moroccan veterinarian

We’ll prepare all the necessary travel documents for international adoption,
including:

  • Rabies certificate
  • General health certificate
  • Microchip documentation
  • Pet passport (when applicable)

We’ll work closely with you to organize safe and comfortable transport for your dog.
Depending on your location, we offer:

  • Travel with a flight volunteer (one of the most common options)
  • In-cabin travel (if the dog is small enough)
  • Cargo transport (depending on airline policies and destination)

You can also personally come to Capsimbay to meet your dog, enjoy a stay at our hotel, and travel home together!

The adoption fee helps cover veterinary care, documentation, and travel costs. Fees vary based on the dog’s destination and method of transport — we’ll always provide a detailed cost estimate upfront.

Once your dog arrives, we’ll stay in touch to offer advice, support, and follow-up.
Adjusting to a new life takes time, and we’re here every step of the way to help.

Our refuge is more than just a shelter — it's a peaceful, healing space where each dog is loved and cared for like family. Many of them were rescued from tough street
conditions, and they truly thrive in a home of their own.
By adopting, you’re not only changing one dog’s life — you’re making room for us to rescue another.

Whether you’ve stayed at Capsimbay or discovered us online, your future best friend might be here waiting. Reach out today — let’s start the journey home together.

ERNEST

Ernest was rescued as a puppy from a street market, I reached out to feed him and next thing he was in the car with me , as much as I would love to be the family for all of them, but They do deserve their own. Ernest is an amazing husky mix , well trained and very well with kids

BLACKY

Blacky is a migit sweetheart who was wandering the streets of Essaouira , he has an amazing personality and gets along with all the dogs, loves to run with the pack on the beach, gets very well with kids and hopes to have his own family one day

ROXY

ROXY is a three legged female dog who was rescued as a pup while in Casablanca, she was run over by a car and we had to amputate his leg as it was getting infected ,

I cannot be more impressed and proud as she managed to adapt and now she runs and jumps like a normal dog and even better , she loved kids and is ok with dogs

Mango and Flamingo

Ideally if they can be adopted together , both found very skinny, with mange and full of ticks in a forest , stopped just to feed them and instantly fell in love , took them to the vet, they are neutered and vaccinated and very playful, very good with kids and other dogs

Pancake

Female / 9months old

Why pancake ? simply because she was smashed by a car when puppy and her back legs looked like a frog, luckily she was a puppy which helped her heal fast , she runs and jumps as any other dog , social and good with kids.

ABIGAIL : Female/ 5months old

I went with a friend to have dinner , and came back with this beauty , couldn’t leave her behind as she came asking for food at the restaurant.

BLONDIE

Male/age unknown

Another migit sweetheart who probably spent months in the streets, didn’t have an issue getting along with the other dogs, he is very well behaved, clean and hopefully gets a family soon..

BUBBA

Male / age unknown

The story of Bubba is short , he just stood in front of my house for two days straight , wanting to get in until he succeeded

He is a good boy and would love to get his own family hopefully..

CHtouka

Female/ neutered 8months old

Chtouka was found while I was driving on my way to Casablanca, under the rain there was this puppy in the middle of the highway, I stopped a bit further and picked her up , she grew up with kids and other dogs around so she is perfectly social
